Duran|Mashaal is a Montreal-based gallery that focuses on emerging and mid-career artists both locally and internationally. Bridging the geographical gap, the young gallery represents innovative artists that experiment with the process of artmaking, pioneer new art forms, or rediscover colour, shape or style to bring something original to the art world. Whether it be in technique and methodology, or execution and performance, each of the artists that Duran|Mashaal represents brings a unique element to the gallery, inspiring a dialogue of emotion and intellect to transpire.
Showcasing the talent of 19 artists and collaborating with many more, Duran|Mashaal curates art from around the globe in order to promote accessibility; by exhibiting international art alongside local art, collectors and dilettantes alike are exposed to a whole world of original pieces as opposed to mass-market art that is now so readily available. Duran|Mashaal promotes artists in the fields of photography, paintings, and sculpture.
Since the gallery first opened its doors in 2017, they have taken artists to several art fairs, also featured in the British Journal of Photography magazine in 2018.
